Job Description

Ultra PCS is seeking a Compliance Quality Engineer to join the Quality Function. This role ensures all products and processes meet aerospace and defence industry standards and regulatory requirements, including CAA Part 21J & G, CAA & EASA Part 145, AS9100, ISO 9001, among others. The engineer will conduct audits, manage corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to safeguard product integrity, support customer satisfaction, and enhance operational efficiency. The role is vital in maintaining our commitment to quality, safety, and compliance within the aerospace and defence sector.


Key Responsibilities

* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processes, products, and services comply with applicable aerospace and defence regulations and are effectively communicated down the supply chain.
* Audits: Conduct internal and supplier audits to assess compliance, identify non-conformances, risks, and improvement opportunities, and collaborate on corrective actions.
* Continuous Improvement: Lead quality improvement projects using root cause analysis and lean methodologies to improve reliability and reduce defects.
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and manage quality documentation, audit reports, and certifications. Report on KPIs related to quality compliance and ensure process integrity through review and configuration control.
* Supplier Quality Management: Work with suppliers to meet quality requirements and drive supply chain improvements.
* Customer Interface: Engage directly with customers and regulatory agencies to address quality and compliance issues, ensuring requirements are flowed down and implemented across internal departments and supply chains.


Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

* Strong understanding of industry standards (CAA & EASA Part 145, Part 21J & G, AS9100, ISO 9001).
* Familiarity with aerospace and defence regulations (ITAR, DFARS, FAA, etc.) and military specifications.
* Knowledge of auditing practices, risk-based thinking, and root cause analysis.
* Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and materials.
* Analytical skills for trend identification and data-driven decision-making.
* Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
* Problem-solving skills using techniques like 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams.
* Project management skills for handling multiple initiatives.
* Minimum of 5 years in quality engineering or compliance within aerospace, defence, or manufacturing sectors.
* Experience as a lead or internal auditor, preferably with certifications.
* Experience managing supplier quality and driving improvements.
* Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean).
* Proficiency with ERP systems for quality tracking and reporting.
