Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
This is a new exciting role to lead the SEMH pathway for Speech and Language Therapy services across Stockport. This will include line management of Speech & Language Therapists, pathway management, project work, support of other speech and language team leads, as well as direct work within SEMH provisions.
Main duties of the job
* To take day-to-day responsibility for the leadership and operational management of a designated team of SaLTs and support staff
* To be responsible for developing and monitoring the standard of service provision across your team through the implementation of clinical governance requirements i.e. protocols and guidelines, clinical audit and risk management policies.
* To contribute to business plans for the managed areas.
* To deputise for more senior staff when appropriate.
* To facilitate in-service training, research and audit activities within the designated team.
* To teach, develop and educate team members to ensure service needs are met.
* To be responsible for the provision of highly specialised assessment, treatment and management of patients referred to your team.
* To work as an autonomous practitioner using advanced and highly specialised skills and knowledge,determine clinical diagnoses and treatment indicated for a complex caseload and maintain records.
* To take responsibility for specific areas of expertise, as agreed with the Children's Therapy Services Lead, taking the lead on these within the department.
