About the Role
Acute Medical Consultant position looking for an established Acute Medical Consultant or a trained SPR for a locum consultant post. The role will join a team of eight consultants and involves on‑site cover from 8am‑5pm on weekdays and 8am‑2pm on weekends, plus contribution to the general medicine on‑call rota (approximately one in 30 to 40 shifts).
Responsibilities
* Provide direct clinical care, averaging 7.5 patient assessment (PA) sessions per week.
* Deliver supporting professional activities such as CPD, audit, teaching and research, averaging 1.5 PA sessions per week.
* Participate in the medical on‑call rotas, equating to approximately 1 PA.
* Maintain flexibility to work innovative patterns, potentially including 7‑day working in the future.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration or evidence of eligibility for full GMC registration.
* Appropriate or fellowship training in Emergency Medicine.
Working Hours & Schedule
The role requires on‑site cover from 8am‑5pm weekdays and 8am‑2pm weekends. The job plan will be reviewed at 3, 6, and 12‑month intervals following appointment and may include flexible arrangements.
