Shape the Future. Grow Leaders. Build a Culture of Performance.
Southern Water is on a transformation journey — and we’re looking for a strategic, forward-thinking Head of Talent Capability & Leadership to lead the evolution of our workforce.
In this pivotal role, you’ll define and deliver the strategy that ensures Southern Water has the leadership, talent, skills, and culture needed to thrive. You’ll empower colleagues at every level to perform, grow, and lead — while championing diversity, inclusion, and a culture of accountability.
This is a high-impact opportunity to shape how we lead, how we grow, and how we succeed.
As part of this role, you will be responsible for:
1. Talent Strategy: Define and deliver a future-focused talent strategy, identifying and developing critical talent and future leaders.
2. Succession Planning: Lead succession planning for executive and senior roles, building strong, diverse pipelines.
3. High-Potential Development: Drive development for high-potential individuals and talent pools using innovative approaches.
4. Culture & Leadership: Shape and embed cultural frameworks that define “how we lead” at Southern Water.
5. Leadership Standards: Oversee leadership and management frameworks, ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact.
6. Skills Development: Lead the organisation’s approach to skills — from early careers to upskilling, reskilling, and mandated training.
7. Team Effectiveness: Strengthen team performance across functions and leadership levels to drive business outcomes.
8. DEI Leadership: Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion through practical action and strong colleague networks.
9. Leadership Engagement: Design and deliver leadership forums and events that build visibility, alignment, and shared accountability.
10. Strategic Collaboration: Partner with HRBPs, Organisation Effectiveness, and Talent Acquisition to align leadership and capability plans with workforce strategies.
11. Insight & Impact: Track progress against key talent and leadership metrics, including diversity, readiness, and bench strength.
You will be a strategic leader with deep expertise in talent, leadership, and cultural development. You will bring a bold vision, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for unlocking potential. You will thrive in dynamic environments and know how to turn strategy into action — with measurable impact.
We’re more than a utility — we’re a purpose-led organisation committed to sustainability, innovation, and community impact. Join us and help shape a workforce that’s ready for the future — and built to lead it.
