Harper Recruitment Group is currently supporting a leading supply chain business with the recruitment of a Regional Logistics Performance Manager for their expanding operation in Grantham.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced logistics professional who enjoys improving operational performance, managing large teams and implementing effective distribution strategies within a fast‑moving environment.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will take responsibility for the overall coordination of fleet activity, warehouse output and service performance across a high‑volume operation. You will play a key role in ensuring operational targets are achieved while maintaining excellent safety and compliance standards throughout the business.
The Role
* Manage the performance of transport and fulfilment operations to ensure daily delivery objectives are achieved efficiently.
* Lead operational managers and departmental supervisors across logistics and distribution functions.
* Review operational workflows and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce downtime and strengthen service delivery.
* Oversee driver management, fleet utilisation and transport scheduling to maximise efficiency.
* Ensure all operational activities comply with current transport legislation and internal company procedures.
* Monitor staffing levels, workforce planning and operational costs in line with business requirements.
* Work collaboratively with customers and internal departments to resolve operational challenges and maintain service standards.
* Produce operational reports and performance updates for senior management meetings.
Candidate Requirements
* Demonstrated leadership experience within logistics, distribution, freight or supply chain operations.
* Strong working knowledge of UK transport and operational compliance standards.
* Experience managing large teams within a busy operational setting.
* Ability to analyse operational performance data and implement practical improvements.
* Confident communicator with strong organisational and decision‑making skills.
* Experience managing budgets and operational expenditure.
* Transport Manager CPC qualification advantageous but not essential.
