The course will help you develop both academically and professionally,allowing you to understand the underpinning skills of the healthcareprofession. You will use a range of assessment methods aimed at linking thetheory to the practice. There is a strong emphasis on working with others andthe importance of effective communication, both with other professionals andservice users.

Entry Requirements
Three GCSEs at Grade 4 or above includingEnglish and Mathematics or a relevant Level 1 qualification

Topics covered include;Equality, diversity and rights in health and social careHuman Growth and DevelopmentSafeguarding and protection in health and social careCommunication in health and social careWorking in health and social careMental health and well-beingCreative activities in health and social careAll units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams or setting up an information board or an in class presentation.
Assessment
The qualification will be awarded to learners who achieve an approved combination of units through a Portfolio of Evidence that has been successfully verified and monitored through NCFE's Qualifications’ Quality Assurance process. Achievement is therefore determined by successful completion of unit assessment with no further requirement for additional/summative assessment
You may progress onto a T Level in Health or a T Level inHealthcare Science, or a Themis Apprenticeship.
Enjoy seminars and workshops led by guest speakers andengage in activities bring your learning to life and help you achieve yourambitions. Past and planned activities have included fundraising for localcharities and team building exercises within our community.
