A superb new opportunity to join a leading engineering firm with offices across the UK. The Payroll Assistant will be supporting the Payroll Manager and be a integral person working within the wider finance team.
Contract Type: Permanent
Days/Hours: Monday to Thursday – 8-5 and 8-4 on a Friday with one hour for lunch (40 hours)
What You’ll Be Doing
* Support the full payroll cycle using Miracle Pay
* Resolve payroll queries by liaising with employees and external providers
* Process overtime, private mileage, and lodge allowances
* Handle statutory documents (P45s, P60s, P11Ds) and assist with year-end tasks
* Manage statutory payments like SMP, SSP, SPP and pension deductions
* Process Attachment of Earnings and other employee deductions
* Stay updated on payroll legislation and ensure full compliance
* Contribute to payroll-related admin and project support
What We’re Looking For
* At least 1 year of payroll experience
* Confident using Microsoft Excel and Word
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn
* Great communication skills and a team-player mindset
