We have a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Aviation Manager to join an established, successful Birmingham-based Tour Operator. You will be responsible for the daily operations of the Aviation (Fares & Ticketing) department, ensuring the team completes all processes and tasks within deadlines. You should be GDS (ideally Amadeus & Galileo) expert with experience managing a small team. The starting salary is up to £40k per annum, depending on experience. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm. The role is ideally based in our client's Birmingham office, with hybrid working options considered.
Job Description
The Aviation Operations Manager will oversee all Aviation Projects, including building relationships with GDS providers, securing new deals, meeting targets, and driving the aviation business forward. The role involves liaising with existing e-sales customers, reservations, and airlines.
1. Project management and oversight of the ticket department daily operations.
2. Ensure reservations team is updated with new fares, special fares, routing changes, and daily fare updates.
3. Assist with GDS operational relationship management.
4. Monitor competitor activity and pricing weekly across airlines.
5. Manage specialist fares, including cruise fares, NDC, I.T fares, e-global, corporate fares, and one-ways, ensuring they are loaded into all GDS systems including Amadeus and GAL.
6. Manage ADM & ACM processes from start to finish.
7. Coordinate airline training for the reservations team with the training department.
8. Manage relationships with e-sales customers, updating them on relevant new fares.
9. Analyze fares and airline information to identify and promote good deals to marketing, management, and reservations.
10. Advise reservations and aftersales teams of disruptions affecting passengers and ensure contingency plans are followed.
11. Participate in rota covering the out-of-hours emergency line.
Experience Required
1. Solid experience managing an aviation team for a Tour Operator.
2. Experience in ticketing and reissuing for multiple airlines.
3. Proficiency with GDS systems, preferably Amadeus and/or Galileo.
4. Recent or current experience in a similar role.
5. Legal right to work in the UK.

This role is primarily office-based near Birmingham, managing a small, office-based team. It offers flexibility for hybrid working. The starting salary is up to £40k per annum plus benefits, to be discussed at interview.
