Overview
We are recruiting for a Payroll Administrator to join our client’s dynamic team in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. This permanent role is ideal for candidates with proven experience in payroll processing, particularly within umbrella payroll environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations for up to 1500 contractors weekly, ensuring compliance with statutory and company-specific standards.
Responsibilities
* Process payroll via Sage
* Manage umbrella payroll, CIS, and outsourced PAYE
* Handle reconciliations and payroll-related invoicing
* Perform statutory calculations (e.g., maternity and sick pay)
* Ensure distribution of payslips, P45s, and P60s in a timely and confidential manner
* Maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality
* Liaise with contractors and agencies across multiple channels to resolve payroll queries
* Oversee payroll compliance and pension uploads
Qualifications and Skills
* Proven experience in umbrella payroll processing and compliance
* Knowledge of Sage Payroll and umbrella payroll operations
* Experience with end-to-end payroll processing for up to 1500 contractors weekly
* Ability to handle payroll reconciliations and statutory pay calculations
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
* Excellent communication skills via phone and email
* Experience with pension uploads and handling payroll queries
* Familiarity with CIS, Limited companies, and outsourced PAYE processes is preferred
