Quality Assurance Officer - Medical Cannabis Industry

Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Officer will assist the QA Manager in maintaining GMP compliance, supporting quality certifications, and overseeing manufacturing and testing processes for medical cannabis products. Responsibilities include drafting procedures, conducting audits, reviewing batch records, and preparing for regulatory inspections.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS), including drafting procedures.
* Support investigations of deviations and ensure timely closure of CAPA and Change Controls.
* Review GMP batch records for certification and release.
* Conduct internal audits and support quality meetings.
* Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, Home Office approvals, and other certifications.
* Prepare for MHRA inspections and stay updated on industry regulations.
* Collaborate across departments to uphold quality standards.
Experience & Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in a life-science or related field.
* Minimum of 2+ years in QA within a GMP environment, with hands-on experience.
* Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing or APIs.
Bonus points for knowledge of HPLC/GC methodologies, industry experience in medical cannabis, EU GMP certification experience, or startup environment familiarity.

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (dependent on experience). Benefits include share options, UK legal benefits, pension, sick pay, professional development, and work equipment.
