Active Staff are pleased to be representing a manufacturing company in Swindon who are looking to add a Wiring Technician to join a growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, testing, and maintaining cable harnesses used across a range of electronic systems. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Job role for the Wiring Technician:
* Interpret and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
* Cut, strip, crimp, and solder wires to assemble cable harnesses to specification
* Install connectors, lugs, and protective coverings as required
* Conduct continuity and electrical tests using appropriate testing equipment
* Inspect finished harnesses to ensure compliance with quality standards and rectify any issues identified
* Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, materials, and test results
* Provide feedback on design or process improvements where appropriate
* Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment used in the assembly process
* Adhere to all company safety policies and industry regulations, ensuring PPE is used correctly and work areas remain clean and organized
Required Skills for the Wiring Technician:
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in wiring or cable harness assembly
* Proven ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
* Skilled in soldering, crimping, and working with various connectors and tools
* Familiarity with testing equipment such as multimeters and continuity testers
* Experience in quality inspection and testing
* Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Previous experience within automotive, aerospace, or telecommunications industries
