The Opportunity
As a Team Leader in Derby, you have a unique opportunity to partner with one other Team Leader and the Aboriginal Practice Leader as the senior leaders in Derby, to lead a small office to provide services to the community of Derby. This presents a unique opportunity for growth and development, that has you stand out amongst your colleagues in your career experience. In this role you will manage a Care Team supporting children on long term Protection Orders and children on Time Limited Orders, prioritising action to support reunification. Most children you will support are placed with their families, and so provision of support to family carers and partnership with broader community and stakeholders is critical. The Derby Care Team is comprised of one Senior Placement Service Worker, one Senior Child Safety Practitioner, 2 Child Safety Officers, and a Case Support Officer, with there being a total of 14 staff who make up the Derby Office. The Derby Office is supported by the broader West Kimberley District and District Support Staff.
As a Team Leader in Broome, you will be leading one of two teams responsible for supporting children on long term Protection Orders. In this role you will have the opportunity to strongly partner with family carers, the out of home care sector, stakeholders, and broader community to strengthen opportunities and support positive outcomes for these young people. The team you will lead is a team proud of the support they provide to young people as they progress toward leaving care and they seek a leader with passion and commitment that aligns with this.

Qualification Requirements
You must have a Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, or relevant human services area to be eligible for this position. All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency.
