Job Summary
Protek is an established structural warranty and construction insurance specialist. We are seeking someone to join the team as a Technical Claims Handler to join our Customer Services team in a newly created role. Protek Group underwrites on behalf of several 'A' rated insurers. We provide insurance solutions for new build and conversion developments with an emphasis on providing excellent customer service. From our operational base in Edenbridge, Kent we service a national client base of both direct and wholesale business.
You will be an integral part of the customer journey, delivering high quality service to clients, brokers, internal colleagues, and other industry professionals. You will be working in partnership with underwriters and insurers whilst at all times maintaining the highest standard of technical file handling. You will be a strategic thinker, focused with the ability to apply on the job training and technical knowledge to your caseload to meet the requirements of the structural warranty process.

Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of latent defect claims in line with company procedures and service standards
* Taking first notification of loss from policyholders and ensure notifications are acknowledged promptly
* Carry out verification and initial investigation to gather evidence quickly and efficiently
* Liaise with insurers and loss adjusters providing clear referrals and product knowledge
* Ensuring that cover is accurately assessed, and claims are handled promptly, fairly and with integrity
* Manging the conciliation procedures between property developers and policyholders
* Work in close co-operation with other teams and team members
* Provide reports and updates to management any other stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including FCA standards, Consumer Duty and Treating Customers Fairly
Qualifications
* 3 years established claims handling experience in a similar or transferable role
* Completed or working towards CII/ CILA qualification
* Understanding of latent defects insurance or property insurance
* Experience of working within a FCA regulated environment, with knowledge of Consumer Duty, identifying vulnerable customers and complaints handling
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiation, influence and build strong relationships
* Computer literate, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel
* Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce accurate work under pressure
* Strong customer service focus and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
* Commercially aware, adaptable, and keen to develop your skills further

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
