The Role:
AA Euro Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Development Project Manager to join a leading renewables company based in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team driving the development of large-scale renewable energy projects across Northern Ireland. The role is particularly suited for someone with extensive Wind Sector experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the process of securing planning consents and amendments.
* Ensure planning compliance throughout the pre-construction phase.
* Oversee all planning studies, including EIA, visuals, and consultant management.
* Manage relationships with external stakeholders (landowners, planners, politicians, consultants, utilities, local authorities).
* Collaborate with internal teams, including Senior Management, Renewables Development & O&M Teams, Corporate Development, and Regulation.
* Conduct resource assessments and contribute to technology selection and site layout optimization.
* Engage in commercial negotiations with stakeholders and project counterparties.
* Oversee risk and opportunity management across projects.
* Contribute to regulatory consultations and lobbying activities.
* Develop and manage project budgets and cash flow forecasts.
* Lead project reporting and resourcing.
* Support due diligence of acquisition opportunities.
Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or related field.
* Strong understanding of the renewables industry, especially large-scale project development.
* Experience managing multiple projects and teams, including consultants and contractors.
* Knowledge of the Northern Ireland planning process.
* Full clean driving license.
* Experience managing projects through development and construction phases.
* Skills in community consultation and engagement.
* Understanding property agreements related to project development.
* Familiarity with renewables construction contracts.
* Knowledge of grid connection agreements.
