Production Team Leader - Manufacturing Environment

Adecco is currently recruiting for a Production Team Leader on behalf of a leading manufacturing organisation. This is a hands‑on role that combines operational leadership with direct involvement in production activities, specifically within processing.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of products in line with customer requirements, managing a team of operators, and maintaining high standards of health and safety across the production area.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
* Adhere to all site health and safety procedures.
* Maintain Risk Assessment and COSHH documentation.
* Ensure workstation and surrounding areas meet housekeeping standards.
* Conduct scheduled area inspections.
* Record all incidents, accidents, and observations appropriately.
Production Management
* Oversee daily operations and optimise workflow across shifts.
* Provide clear handovers between shifts.
* Monitor bottleneck processes and ensure continuous workflow.
* Track order progress and ensure timely delivery.
* Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve process and equipment issues.
* Manage external batch processing and shipments.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Consumables & Materials
* Maintain stock levels of consumables and chemicals.
* Conduct weekly stock checks and ensure safe storage and handling.
* Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper usage rotation.
Team Leadership
* Act as the first point of contact for operator queries and issues.
* Resolve resource conflicts and elevate concerns as needed.
* Ensure all team members are trained and maintain accurate training records.
* Support performance reviews and manage informal HR matters.
* Attend meetings and act as deputy for the Team Lead when required.
Ideal Candidate
* Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Knowledge of health & safety standards and chemical handling.
* Ability to manage priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
* Comfortable with both hands‑on production work and team supervision.
