Robert Half are pleased to be partnering with an SME based in Didcot (Milton Park) to recruit a Finance Manager. The Finance Manager will receive a salary of up to £50,000 along with other a benefit attractive benefits including some flexibility around hybrid working.

This is a varied role and would suit an individual who doesn't mind getting stuck into a wide range of duties.

Primary responsibilities;

1. Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all postings (journals, accruals, prepayments, adjustments) are properly recorded.
2. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations (e.g. accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany, prepayments).
3. Oversee the process for internal finance queries from other departments, providing guidance, explanations, and resolution.
4. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax, VAT, and regulatory reporting (where applicable).
5. Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
6. Oversee supplier payment runs.
7. Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analysis.
8. Assist in preparing quarterly and annual forecasts, reforecasts, and longer-term financial plans.
9. Assist with the budget process (coordinate inputs, consolidate, challenge, and finalise).
10. Assist with implementing process improvements, system upgrades, or automation in the finance function.

Key experience and attributes;

11. Minimum of 2 years experience of month end/management accounts
12. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
13. Hungry, Humble, Smart attitude - we are a team that works closely together.
14. Ability to work independently, take ownership, and liaise effectively with non-finance colleagues.
15. Excellent administrative and organisation skills
16. Able to adapt responsibilities and duties
17. The ability to cope with challenges and to find and present solutions
18. Good communication skills both internally & externally
19. A keen mindset to continue learning and developing
20. Maintaining a professional manner and delivering a positive can-do attitude
21. Systems oriented with an attitude of continual improvement
