The role
Reporting to the firm's Collections Manager, this role is provides comprehensive administrative support to the Credit Control Team and wider Firm, supporting our key business objective of being a leader in client experience whilst driving profitable growth. The person
This role requires someone with previous administration experience who can thrive in a busy environment where they are required to use their own initiative to solve problems and see work through to its conclusion. You will be a natural organizer and are likely to have some experience within a Finance department or within a role which involved elements of finance.
Given the responsibilities of this role, it's likely that your background and experience will include:
* a role with a level of independence and responsibility
* a good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
* an education to A-Level or the equivalent with strong results in English and Maths GCSEs (or their equivalent)
The role also requires someone who:
* is self-managed and confident in setting and prioritising their own work agenda.
* has excellent written as well as verbal communication skills and can demonstrate that they can convey complex matters in a way that different audiences can understand.
* is confident and able to build sustainable relationships with clients, lawyers and internal colleagues, and works well within a team.
* is organised and methodical in how they approach their work and has excellent attention to detail.
* is willing to take on new responsibilities and challenges
The activities
Reporting & Monitoring
* Produce weekly aged debt reports and ensure these are sent to Matter Managers and Matter Partners.
* Update our Credit Control system with promises of payment from emails and remittances.
* Update portal status changes for eBilled invoices.
Inbox and System Administration
* Manage the Credit Control inbox, including, but not limited to:
* Completing supplier forms
* Adding PO numbers to invoices and resubmitting them for processing
* Sending out copy invoices
* Adding/updating contact details to our Credit Control system.
* Support the team to ensure all general administration tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Systems & Process Knowledge
* Develop a sound understanding of key finance systems that are relevant to the role.
* Develop a sound understanding of our cash collection policies and processes.
