Freelance Contracts Manager – School Refurbishments (West Midlands) Location: West Midlands Contract Type: Freelance Duration: Ongoing project-based work About the Role: We’re seeking an experienced Freelance Contracts Manager to oversee multiple school refurbishment projects across the West Midlands. Working with a dynamic and supportive team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that refurbishments are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in managing construction or refurbishment projects in the education sector. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee and coordinate all phases of school refurbishment projects * Manage subcontractors and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery * Liaise with clients, local authorities, and educational stakeholders * Ensure health & safety and safeguarding standards are upheld at all times * Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality control * Conduct site visits and inspections as needed * Handle contracts, documentation, and reporting Requirements: * Proven experience as a Contracts or Project Manager in the construction/refurbishment sector * Experience working on school or educational premises is essential * Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and safeguarding procedures * Excellent organisational and leadership skills * Able to work independently and manage multiple projects * Valid CSCS card and SMSTS This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of Approach Personnel Ltd that is operating as an employment business.
