Overview
Our client seeks to appoint a General Manager to oversee overall operational activities, ensuring human and capital resources are utilised, developed and integrated to optimum levels.
The suitable candidate for this role will be a leader who exudes charisma and can demonstrate admirable people management skills, commanding respect across all divisions of the business.
Responsibilities
* Implement staff training as needed
* Be the first point of contact with staff
* Ensure sufficient staff resources are in place for maximum efficiency
* Support and motivate staff to achieve maximum output and profit
* Incentivise staff where appropriate
* Liaise with key departmental heads
* Set and manage annual performance targets within the budget process
* Ensure revenue and profitability targets set in the budget are met
* Ensure operations contribute to the overall strategy and development of the business
* Deliver an excellent service to customers, providing ultimate satisfaction to drive growth
* Achieve and exceed company expectations
* Continuously monitor the marketplace through research and analysis
* Be responsible for Profit and Loss
* Ensure the correct and balanced deployment of resources is in place
* Ensure work is produced within agreed timescales and contractual obligations with clients are met in full
* Challenge processes for continual improvement
Qualifications and Skills
* Possess an overall understanding of business operations
* At least 5 years’ experience in the last 15 years at Sales Director level (or equivalent)
* A sound knowledge of the printing or packaging industry
* A strong problem solver and decision maker
* Demonstrates communication, influencing and negotiating skills
* Impeccable report writing and presentation skills
