The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join a well-established automotive remanufacturing business. Reporting into the QHSE Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting both the Quality and Production teams, helping to maintain and improve quality standards across the site.
This is a hands-on senior role where you will lead quality investigations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure any non-conformances are identified, managed, and resolved using recognised automotive quality tools. You will also help embed a strong quality culture and support new product introduction and process development activities.

* Salary up to £40,000 (dependent on experience)
* 9-day working fortnight (every other Friday off)
* Stable, full-time permanent role
* 13 weeks sick pay at full pay, followed by 13 weeks half pay
* 3% employer pension contribution
* Factory shutdown: two weeks in August and one week at Christmas
* Remaining annual leave flexible to book during the year

Key Responsibilities
* Investigating and resolving quality issues using structured problem-solving methods (e.g. 8D)
* Supporting compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
* Working closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure product specifications are met daily
* Supporting NPI / APQP activities and remanufacturing process development
* Managing and improving documentation control and inspection processes
* Supporting supplier quality activities, including SQA and supplier development (minimal UK travel)
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives to shift from quality control to quality assurance
* Supporting customer quality concerns, warranty programmes, and QOS reporting
What We’re Looking For
* Degree or HND/HNC in Engineering, Manufacturing, Production or Quality
* Strong quality experience within an IATF 16949 automotive environment (or ISO9001 / AS9100 background considered)
* Proven knowledge of Automotive Core Tools: APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, Control Plans, ISIR, 8D
* Experience with advanced inspection and measurement techniques (CMM, GD&T, MSA)
* Powertrain product experience (transmissions, engines, axles, or similar)
* Audit-trained (IATF 16949 Lead Auditor desirable)
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
* Methodical, organised, and comfortable operating independently when required
