We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) schools in the Grantham area. In this role, you will provide hands-on support to children and young people who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges, helping them to access the curriculum and develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and personally.
You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver lessons, support small groups, and implement individual behaviour and support plans. Your role will also involve fostering a positive and inclusive environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
As an LSA in SEMH schools, you will support pupils in building confidence, developing social and emotional skills, and managing challenging behaviours. You will be an essential part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure each pupil receives tailored support that meets their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with SEMH needs in classroom and small group settings.
Assist teaching staff in delivering lessons tailored to individual needs.
Implement behaviour and support plans to promote positive outcomes.
Support pupils' social, emotional, and personal development.
Encourage independence, resilience, and confidence in learning.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to meet individual pupil needs.
Skills & Qualities:
Experience supporting children with SEMH or other additional needs is desirable.
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work across multiple school settings.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, NVQ) are a plus.
