Science Teacher – Secondary School (Southampton) – September Start
Prospero Teaching are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Southampton who are looking to appoint a Science Teacher from September. You will be joining a supportive and experienced department, with a strong focus on high-quality teaching, student progress, and positive behaviour across the school.
The school is particularly interested in teachers who can deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics welcomed.
As a Science Teacher at the school, you will play a key role in delivering structured and engaging lessons, supporting student attainment, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Contract Details
Location – Southampton
Position – Science Teacher
Type of work – Key Stage 3 and 4 Science
Start date – September
Contract type – Temp to Perm (potential for permanent)
Full time/part time – Full time
Minimum rate of pay – £32,000 – £49,000 depending on experience (paid to scale)
Hours – 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, plus parents’ evenings
Experience, Training and Qualifications
1. QTS or equivalent
2. Experience teaching Science in a UK Secondary School
3. Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
4. Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics desirable
5. Up to date Safeguarding training (within the last year desirable)

6. Right to Work in the UK
7. Enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
8. Two professional child-related references
