Salary £46,142 - £51,356 per annum | Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week | Preston

This role offers the opportunity to influence how school buildings are maintained, invested in and ultimately handed back to the public sector — ensuring they remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose throughout the life of the contract.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading on asset condition management across PFI contracts, ensuring buildings, infrastructure and equipment meet contractual and statutory requirements
* Monitoring lifecycle investment, maintenance quality and asset performance, challenging underinvestment or deferred maintenance
* Carrying out and overseeing condition surveys, audits and technical inspections across a large and complex portfolio
* Providing expert technical advice to senior stakeholders on risks, compliance, lifecycle planning and handback readiness
* Working with SPVs, FM providers and internal teams to manage issues, disputes, variations and commercial decisions where technical input is required
What we’re looking for
* A chartered or professionally qualified building or property professional (e.g. MRICS or equivalent)
* Significant experience advising on building condition, asset management or capital programmes within complex or public‑sector environments
* Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, lifecycle planning and condition management
* The confidence to influence, challenge and hold contractors to account using sound technical judgement
* A collaborative, analytical approach and a clear commitment to professional standards and continuous development
