We are delighted to be exclusively supporting market-leading business who supply essential products and provide essential services to a large customer base across the UK, as they seek to hire a new Health and Safety Manager to play a key role in the business.


A quick snapshot of the role:

* Standalone Health and Safety Manager, working closely with the SLT and functional heads across a multi-faceted business, where you will have full autonomy to deliver the overall health and safety strategy for the business.
* Taking the business from "good to great" on their health and safety journey.
* A "roll your sleeves up" and pragmatic role, where you will be responsible for not only shaping strategy and culture, but also expected to be part of the doing.
* Must have a Manufacturing, Logistics, Distribution, Warehousing or Retail experience.
* A hybrid role, with 2 days per week in office based in Croydon, 1-2 days per week visiting sites and the remaining part of the week working from home remotely.

Some of the key responsibilities for the Health and Safety Manager will include:

* Producing written and verbal reports to the Board of Directors to communicate and driving continuous improvement.
* Developing and manage Health and Safety Policies, Procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Conducting visits to ensure that suitable risk assessments and safe working procedures are in place in warehouse and office locations, and ensure inspections are carried out and acted upon.
* Providing Health and Safety advice, support, and guidance across multi-site locations to all levels of colleagues.
* Identifying and supporting with Health and Safety training needs across the business.


The successful candidate for the Health and Safety Manager role will have the following background:

* An experienced Health and Safety professional who has worked in a highly regulated, fast moving, multi-site operation - Manufacturing, Logistics, Warehousing, Distribution or Retail background is preferred.
* A doer who adopts a pragmatic approach to work - this is a standalone role in a large company and you will be expected to wear multiple hats.
* A natural relationship builder, with strong levels of communication to stakeholders at all levels.
* Curious mindset and approach to work - likes to positively challenge others, but also happy to be positively challenged on a personal level.
* Embraces change and always looking for opportunities to improve processes and systems.
* NEBOSH qualification, and a evidence of continued professional development.
