Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Eastbourne
Full Time Permanent
Salary up to £38,325.00 per annum, plus, company van & fuel card
42.5 hours per week (8-5 Monday- Friday)
We’re currently seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our team as part of a social housing contract in Lewes and the surrounding areas. This is a dynamic, office-based leadership role where you’ll oversee the delivery of void maintenance projects within unoccupied properties. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role with a strong pipeline of work and a growing presence in the area. You’ll play a key part in ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and ready for residents, making a real impact in the community.
Duties:
1. Supervise day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive maintenance works across unoccupied properties
2. Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards
3. Monitor progress of works, resolve issues, and ensure the client’s satisfaction
4. Allocate resources and operatives effectively to meet service targets and contractual obligations
5. Manage work schedules and priorities to minimise disruption to neighbouring residents
6. Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations, COSHH, and company procedures
7. Lead and support a team of operatives, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management
8. Identify training needs and coordinate development opportunities for team members
9. Enforce HR policies including attendance, conduct, and grievance procedures
10. Monitor and maintain company assets including vehicles, tools, PPE, and van stock
11. Oversee material usage and procurement to ensure cost-effective operations
12. Use system reports to track performance, resource deployment, and asset condition
13. Act as a key point of contact for the client’s team, ensuring professional communication and issue resolution
14. Liaise with client representatives, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate service delivery
15. Support contract mobilisation, compliance audits, and service improvement initiatives
16. Assist with budget control, forecasting, and identifying operational efficiencies
17. Provide cover for other supervisors during absence or peak periods
18. Attend toolbox talks, training sessions, and formal company meetings
19. Ensure all activities reflect company values and maintain a professional image at all times
Role Criteria:
20. Previous experience in a Maintenance Supervisor or similar supervisory role within housing or property maintenance
21. Proven track record of managing, monitoring, recording, and reporting Health & Safety and compliance activities
22. Experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance in occupied properties
23. City & Guilds or equivalent in a relevant trade discipline
24. Full, valid UK driving licence
25. Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH
26. Working knowledge of Schedule of Rates
27. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
