Job Overview
The Operations and Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end international supply chain for clothing and apparel products, from overseas factory production through to final delivery. The role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and meeting customer requirements by managing international import/export logistics, inventory, transportation, and warehousing. The successful candidate will develop and implement global logistics strategies, analyse performance data, and ensure full compliance with international trade regulations and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
International Supply Chain Management
* Oversee the international flow of clothing and apparel products from overseas factories to distribution centres and customers
* Manage import and export processes, including shipping schedules, documentation, customs clearance, and duties
* Ensure timely production handover, shipping, storage, and distribution
Budget & Cost Control
* Develop and manage logistics and operations budgets
* Negotiate competitive rates with international suppliers, carriers, and freight forwarders
* Control transport, warehousing, and import/export-related costs
Process Optimisation & Performance
* Implement best practices across international logistics and warehousing
* Use logistics systems and software to track shipments and performance
* Monitor KPIs related to lead times, costs, delivery accuracy, and compliance
Supplier & Client Relationships
* Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas clothing manufacturers, suppliers, and freight partners
* Act as a key point of contact for resolving international supply chain issues, delays, or disruptions
Compliance & Safety
* Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies
* Maintain high health & safety standards across logistics and warehousing operations
Strategic Planning
* Identify international logistical challenges and develop effective solutions
* Lead logistics improvement projects supporting global growth
* Contribute to long-term supply chain and distribution strategy

Essential Skills & Qualifications

* Proven experience in operations and logistics management with global supply chains
* Solid knowledge of customs procedures, duties, and international shipping methods
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
* Proficiency in logistics systems and KPI analysis
* Strong negotiation and communication abilities
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, international environment
