About the role:
Develop and grow sales within our protein categories, focusing on imported global chilled and frozen Beef & Lamb offerings. Build relationships with current customers and develop new supply chains. Collaborate closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams across operations, technical, category, planning, and commercial functions. Lead meetings, presentations, and visits to strengthen partnerships.
Key responsibilities:
1. Manage relationships with customers and suppliers to foster long-term partnerships and category growth.
2. Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales growth and market performance.
3. Oversee NPD and product development to align with consumer trends and customer needs.
4. Work with marketing to stay updated on market trends and performance metrics.
5. Support account development through internal commercial teams.
6. Plan and execute new supply chains as needed.
7. Manage new product development projects with internal teams and external partners.
8. Handle account administration, including budgeting, forecasting, and system updates.
9. Provide analytics and reports to monitor performance and inform action plans.
Qualifications and experience:
1. Proven experience in commercial management roles.
2. Strong customer and supplier relationship management skills.
3. Leadership experience and a track record of developing new business.
4. Knowledge of account management tools and business forecasting.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to influence at all levels and build strong relationships.
7. Trend awareness within the food market.
8. Leadership skills to manage and develop a team.
9. Understanding of business drivers and technical opportunities.
10. Ability to analyze data for opportunities and risks.
11. Good knowledge of imported global Beef and Lamb markets.
12. Willingness to travel globally; valid driving license required.
13. Understanding of UK market sectors: Manufacturing, Wholesale, Retail, Foodservice.
14. Strong negotiation skills and awareness of environmental challenges in the protein sector.
