Hardgoods Regulatory Engineering Risk and Compliance Supervisor (m/f/x)
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Hardgoods Regulatory Engineering Risk andCompliance Supervisor within Product Stewardship you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
1. Oversee EU/UK regulatory compliance for hardgoods.
2. Lead risk assessments across the product lifecycle.
3. Guide engineering, design, and commercial teams on regulatory requirements.
4. Manage compliance documentation and product commercialization.
5. Coordinate testing with external labs and internal quality/R&D teams.
6. Monitor regulatory changes and assess product impact.
7. Support internal audits and external inspections.
8. Resolve compliance issues and drive product safety improvements.
9. Train teams on regulatory, safety, and compliance processes.
10. Apply EN/ISO standards and frameworks including CE, RoHS, REACH, WEEE, EMC, LVD, and GPSR.
11. Implement 3M Product Safety and Product Stewardship processes.
12. Collaborate with cross‑functional Product Safety teams.
13. Lead and support direct reports, including performance metrics.
14. Maintain a flexible schedule to support global team needs.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
15. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline
16. Significant experience in Product Compliance, Product Stewardship, Sustainability, Materials science, Quality, or related Regulatory Affairs
17. Previous project management experience
18. Previous experience in people management
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
19. Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline from an accredited institution
20. Experience working with high-risk applications, global customers, global regulatory bodies, and government agencies
21. Strong project management skills and proven ability to work independently, manage multiple global projects, have a thirst for learning, and drive for tangible results in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
22. Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders, effectively translating complex concepts into clear, understandable ideas.
23. Strong public speaking and presentation capabilities; confident working across varied audiences including clients, internal teams, executive leadership, and industry events.
24. Exceptional research, analytical, and critical thinking skills; ability to interpret regulatory texts and translate complex information for a broad audience.
Job specifics:
25. Location Information: Can be located at the 3M location in either Bracknell - UK, Wroclaw - Poland or Den Haag - Netherlands
26. This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the relevant country 3M office.
27. Travel expectations: May include up to 10% domestic or international
28. Relocation: Not authorized
29. Working pattern: full time
