Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in a family friendly hours environment. As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu planning using planned production schedules to staff management, ensuring that our customers receive outstanding service in a vibrant and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure high-quality dishes are consistently produced
* Develop and design innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients following company guidance.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times
* Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food presentation, and hygiene practices
* Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed while minimising waste
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods
* Maintain a positive atmosphere within the kitchen, promoting teamwork and hospitality
Experience
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
* Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
* Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead and inspire a team
* In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
* Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are highly desirable
* Prior experience in restaurant settings is essential
* Previous experience of working within contract catering environment
