Responsibilities
* Provide individualised emotional, academic and social support to pupils
* Help pupils feel secure, respected and engaged in learning
* Work closely with class teachers, therapeutic professionals and the SEN team
* Implement personalised strategies that reflect pupils’ needs and strengths
* Adapt learning materials to support communication, regulation and engagement
* Model and promote a values led approach centred on trust, belonging, aspiration, voice, pride and curiosity
* Apply Therapeutic Thinking principles using relational, reflective and restorative approaches
* Contribute positively to a caring and skilled team where relationships come first
Requirements
Essential
* A calm, nurturing and thoughtful approach to supporting children and young people
* Strong listening skills with the ability to respond with empathy and consistency
* GCSEs or equivalent in English and Mathematics at Grade A* to C
* A commitment to positive behaviour approaches and a culture of readiness, respect and safety
* A willingness to learn, reflect and develop professionally within a supportive team
Desirable
* Experience of working with pupils with SEMH or additional needs
* Experience within a therapeutic, trauma informed or specialist education setting
* An interest in developing skills in Therapeutic Thinking and relational practice
