We specialise in International Shipping and Freight Forwarding with a global network of freight agents, partners and suppliers.
We have built a reputation for integrity and excellence within the industry, providing comprehensive services for cargo of all descriptions. Transporting freight from LCL to FCL, huge project cargo shipments to some of the world's most inaccessible destinations as well as major logistics hubs across the globe.
We are now seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support Neba's expansion and fulfil our ambitious growth plans. You will have the opportunity to develop and oversee all aspects of Neba's import and export freight forwarding function, focusing on profit through revenue growth, productivity improvements and cost controls. Your role will assist in providing enhanced end-to-end supply chain visibility, whilst working as a member of a small, yet well-functioning team.
Responsibilities of the role
* Set, monitor, report progress and provide feedback on the business's performance.
* Oversee daily operations ensuring fluid communication and integration between colleagues and customers.
* Ensure Quality Assurance, compliance and audit activities are undertaken and all non-conformance, continuous improvement and feedback actions are reported and closed out.
* Maximise opportunities to secure profitable business through existing customers and new business opportunities.
* Effectively deal with critical service of airfreight, sea freight and road transportation requirements.
* Oversee the business customer and third-party relationship management providing direction and feedback, to ensure continuous improvement and optimisation of service quality and customer satisfaction.
* To professionally represent the company, whilst building relationships with active and potential clients, suppliers, partners and agents.
* Support with the ongoing development of export department team's processes and operations procedures.
* Develop and lead with an excellent standard of operational best practices.
Experience required
* Management or supervisory experience in international freight-forwarding and logistics.
* Experience of managing staff and working in small teams.
* Excellent knowledge of critical freight markets, mainly in Africa and the Middle East.
* Proficiency in operational management methodologies.
* Hands-on experience with all Export duties including completing MAWB's, HAWB's, B/L and customs entries.
* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
