Location: Glasgow (2 days per week in office)
Are you a seasoned electrical professional with a strong background in lighting systems, energy management, and public sector infrastructure? This public sector body are seeking a Senior Electrical Manager to play a key role in the strategic oversight and future development of Scotland’s transport electrical assets.
In this vital role, you’ll provide technical leadership, strategic input, and contractor oversight on a variety of critical infrastructure programmes – all while shaping policy and driving innovation in energy use and lighting systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Electrical Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
* Providing expert guidance and technical challenge on electrical and lighting systems to ensure contractors deliver high-quality outcomes on schemes and annual investment programmes.
* Leading the development of future strategy for Lighting Central Management System (CMS) and LED renewal initiatives.
* Shaping and maintaining best practice, policy, and standards for electrical systems across the country.
* Taking ownership of energy management, including supplier engagement, budgeting, and identifying opportunities to reduce usage and cost across the electrical asset base.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications
* Membership of a relevant professional industry body.
* Preferably CEng (Chartered Engineer) status with the Engineering Council – desirable but not essential.
Experience
You’ll need to demonstrate:
1. Extensive experience in electrical and lighting service delivery, ideally in a roads or transport environment, with a strong grasp of industry standards.
2. Knowledge of the public sector electricity market, including management of different energy supply types.
3. A track record of engaging with diverse stakeholders and providing credible advice at a senior level.
4. Proven ability in contract management and balancing multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment.
