Overview
As a Patient Services Coordinator, you will assist our patients through the check‑in and/or check‑out process so they can have a positive and consistent experience from the moment they walk in the door.
Responsibilities
In this position you will be the first friendly face that helps patients through their experience at our clinic. Your upbeat and helpful attitude will consistently provide a positive first impression. While certain parts of your day will be very routine, the challenge of this position presents itself in the number of patients that come through our clinic in a day. Preparation and superior organization skills will allow you to navigate through our hectic schedule effectively.
Experience That Matters
* Professionalism: greet and build rapport with patients while completing the check‑in process in a timely manner.
* Red‑carpet customer service: ask appropriate questions to assess patient needs and provide all necessary information.
* Collect copays and patient balances and provide receipts.
* During checkout, coordinate with patients and clinical staff to schedule appointments that are convenient and in accordance with physician/office guidelines.
* Use of EMR systems and other medical office technology to chart patient information and communicate with staff.
* Maintain a tidy lobby and desk area.
* Show a go‑getter work ethic to help out with additional tasks.
Qualifications
For your safety, keep this in mind: The position requires sitting for long periods with occasional stooping, bending, and stretching. Any lifting should be limited to 40 pounds or less. You will need sufficient manual dexterity and adequate vision/hearing.
We Feel This Position Requires These Basics
* High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s degree in a business‑related field is preferred.
* Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is a must.
* At least one year of prior experience in a similar medical clinic position is desired.
Minimum Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Experience as a receptionist or office worker preferred.
* Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office.
* Must successfully complete required e‑learning courses within 90 days of occupying the position.

Physical Demands

Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Work Environment
The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in‑person interaction with co‑workers, management, and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
