About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary engineering team supporting critical infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of innovative and sustainable solutions within the water, power & energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear, and food & beverage sectors.
As a Senior Planning Engineer, you’ll contribute to the planning, design, and execution of major engineering projects—ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and manage detailed project schedules using planning tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
* Work collaboratively with engineering and project teams to assess resources, forecast timelines, and proactively manage delays.
* Liaise with stakeholders across engineering, management, and operations to ensure full project alignment.
* Analyse critical paths, update schedules regularly, and generate comprehensive reports, including S-curves and productivity charts.
* Ensure project delivery meets all quality, budgetary, and timeline expectations.

What We’re Looking For
* 3–5+ years’ experience in construction or infrastructure planning and scheduling.
* Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar planning software.
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings, construction methods, and project documentation.
* Experience with budgeting, cost control, and resource planning.
* Excellent problem-solving and risk management skills.
* Familiarity with BIM processes and large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
* Flexibility to travel for project needs when required.
* Candidates with experience in National Grid or National Gas projects are highly desirable
