Overview
The Job: As Sous Chef you will in essence be responsible along with the Executive Chef for all kitchen operations, reporting directly to the Executive Chef. You will work with the Executive Chef, who has support from other Sous Chefs and can help ensure the team has the best possible ingredients, tools and equipment to do the job. As Sous Chef, you and the Kitchen Team will take full responsibility for overseeing Kitchen operations on this property, providing a first-class dining experience to all clientele. You will train, develop, and motivate all junior team members, improving and maintaining standards to meet and exceed customer needs. You will work closely with the Executive Chef & other Sous Chefs to further develop the offering while maintaining exceptionally high standards on every plate.
Responsibilities
* Support all kitchen operations alongside the Executive Chef and other Sous Chefs.
* Report to the Executive Chef and collaborate to ensure optimal ingredients, tools, and equipment are available.
* Lead, train, develop, and motivate the junior kitchen team; maintain high standards to meet and exceed customer expectations.
* Work closely with the Executive Chef and fellow Sous Chefs to develop the menu offering while upholding exceptionally high standards on every plate.
* Provide a first-class dining experience for all clientele.
Qualifications
* The role would suit a current Sous Chef or an experienced CDP seeking their first Sous Chef role, if you can demonstrate leadership experience and kitchen management skills.
* Strong understanding of food costs, controls within a quality environment, and management of a whole team.
* Skilled in manning levels and team development are essential.
* Excellent presentation and FOH liaison skills are essential to ensure the best standard of quality and delivery for the customer.
* No live-in accommodation is available for this role; own transport is very desirable.
