Location: Based at Bracknell HQ, with travel to client and vendor sites as required

Reports to: Sales & Marketing Director

Reliance is looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial Sales Manager – Cloud to build and lead a dedicated sales function focused exclusively on cloud-based security and technology solutions for the UK mid-market. This is a newly created leadership role at the heart of our strategic growth plans.

Build something new in a fast-evolving space

This is a rare opportunity to shape the identity, culture, and go-to-market strategy of a new sales team — distinct from our core enterprise business. You’ll focus on selling CCTV, access control, visitor management, IoT, AI, analytics and more; plus associated service such as maintenance — backed by Reliance’s proven in-house engineering and support capabilities.

You’ll be hands-on from day one: engaging directly with clients, identifying early-stage opportunities, and working alongside marketing and vendor partners to drive demand. You’ll scale a high-performing team around you to build a sustainable, fast-moving sales engine that reflects the agility of the cloud services model.

This is not traditional IT reselling. It’s about uncovering new markets, creating demand, and delivering long-term innovation and value.

Key aspects of the role include:

* Building and leading a new sales function focused exclusively on cloud-based security solutions
* Personally developing early opportunities and leading client engagements
* Creating a distinct sales identity and agile culture within Reliance Cloud
* Developing and scaling a high-performing internal sales team
* Defining and targeting mid-market sectors where cloud brings the greatest value
* Collaborating with marketing and vendor partners to drive campaigns and execution
* Promoting a “land and expand” approach to support long-term growth
* Acting as the internal and external figurehead for the cloud division

What you’ll be doing:

* Actively lead outbound sales activity and drive early pipeline growth
* Manage and coach one internal sales team member initially, expanding the team based on success
* Identify high-potential sectors and organisations using market and vendor insight
* Lead the sales process from initial contact through to proposal and close
* Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
* Collaborate with marketing on campaign development and lead follow-up
* Work closely with vendors to unlock joint opportunities and incentives
* Align with technical and delivery teams to ensure smooth project handovers
* Provide regular reports to senior leadership on performance and market feedback

What we’re looking for:

* Proven track record in building and leading successful B2B or B2C sales teams
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT, cloud, SaaS, or similar sales environments
* Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to grow something from the ground up
* Hands-on leader who can think strategically and execute tactically
* Strong understanding of solution selling, margin management, and sales process
* Experienced in working with marketing and vendor partners to drive results
* CRM-savvy with a data-driven approach to pipeline and performance management
* Valid UK driving licence
* Experience selling into mid-market sectors such as education, healthcare, or multi-site operations
* Knowledge of cloud-based security, SaaS platforms, or IoT technologies
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification
