Responsibilities
A typical day will involve completing eye examinations, contact lens and extended service examinations. You will work alongside our Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues with training, coaching and maintaining departmental standards.
Due to our extended service contracts with the NHS, we commit to delivering a wide range of eye care services and will support you to gain any additional accreditations needed.
We offer comprehensive training and protected time to complete further accreditations, funded by Asda.
Optional opportunity for GOC registered professionals to supervise students.
Support from in-store, regional and home office teams for clinical and service queries.
Qualifications
* A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
* A registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
* MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda – funded and supported by us)
* On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
* Able to use your skills and passion for the role to deliver a memorable customer experience
* Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping the culture of the department
Right to Work in the UK evidence required. NHS performer list and 2 clinical references required.
Evidence of WECS accreditation & WGOS module accreditation may be required for Wales.
