Responsibilities
The post holder is responsible for the daily operational management of medical staffing issues and rota coordination with support from the Site Speciality Manager, Senior Managers and clinicians. Key duties include developing, coordinating and managing all on‑call rotas within the Cancer Division, producing and managing the on‑call roster through the Health Roster electronic system, and supporting the coordination and management of sickness and recruitment.
The role involves ensuring training rotas are monitored twice yearly to maintain compliance with the New Deal and that all rotas are EWTR compliant. Excellent written and communication skills, prioritisation of work and meeting deadlines are essential. The post holder will work within the Operational Management Team to support sound administrative processes for the Directorate clinical teams.
Travel to Ysbyty Gwynedd and Ysbyty Wrexham Maelor is required, and the post will need to be covered over five days a week.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
* Degree level Management or equivalent experience
* High level administration role for significant time
* Extensive experience of staff management
* Previous experience of managing financial resources
* Sound knowledge of IT systems
* Knowledge of waiting list management
* Knowledge and understanding of the terms and conditions of junior medical working patterns
* Experience of handling complex/sensitive complaints or situations/issues
* Ability to communicate with all levels of staff, representatives and managers in a clear and confident manner
Desirable Criteria
* Professional Management Qualification
* Currently pursuing a qualification in NHS Management
* ECDL
* Previous NHS experience
* Experience of project work
* Management of databases
* Desire to pursue a progressive management career in the NHS
* Welsh speaker
