Job Purpose
The Workshop Supervisor's key role is to assist Production Manager in the day to day running of the workshop, ensuring that the goods manufactured to strict deadlines whilst maintaining the highest standards of work. You will also ensure that workshop is maintained to the correct standards, and that all relevant H&S guidelines are followed. You will work as part of a close knit team, which offers great support and collaboration to improve the efficiency and working environment of the business.

Primary Responsibilities
· Co-ordination and monitoring of the activities in the workshop ensuring full utilisation of labour resource to maximise efficiency
· Ensuring the timely completion of all works, without compromising the high standards required, with regular reporting of progress and issues to the Production Manager
· Coordinating with other departments including Design, Operations and Commercial teams, ensuring smooth flow from material delivery to goods out
· Proactively raising awareness of any issues encountered during manufacture and seeking appropriate resolutions quickly
· Management of materials/stock items; placing orders with procurement team/direct with Production Manager to ensure that materials are available when required and stock levels are maintained
· Health & Safety Management within the Workshop including completion of regular Health & Safety checks and Tool Box Talks, raising any concerns with the Production Manager
· Training and supervision of new employees, subcontractors and apprentices
· Providing regular feedback and input to other departments to drive improvements to internal processes.
· Attending internal production and design meetings in the absence of the Production Manager
· Assisting with the continuous improvement of our operation through regular feedback between the workshop and management team
Experience
· Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Bench or Site Joinery
· Minimum 5 years minimum post qualification experience in bench joinery
· Experience working on a multitude of machines including:
o CNC
o Crosscut saw
o Panel saw
o Band resaw
o Planer
o Chopsaw
o Edge bander
o Cuber
o Air tools
· CSCS card preferable but not essential
Skills & Abilities
· Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, to manufacture bespoke joinery
· Confident in overseeing the work of others, and able to adapt to help the team work efficiently
· Excellent problem-solving skills and confident decision making
· Good communication skills with clients and staff
· Ability to motivate team to achieve objectives, leading by example
· Flexibility with hours to assist workflow and achieve deadlines
· Understanding and setting up of machinery
· Confident using a range of software including Outlook, Word & Excel
