* Shift pattern 8:30am-5pm (with some flexibility)
Dalton Court Care Home, nestled in the heart of Cockermouth with breathtaking views of the Lake District fells, is a 60-bed home offering exceptional Nursing, Dementia, Palliative, and Respite care. We’re proud to provide a warm, supportive environment for both residents and staff.
We’re now looking for a dedicated Maintenance Operative to help keep our home safe, welcoming, and running smoothly.
What you’ll be doing:
* General Maintenance – Carry out day-to-day repairs, basic plumbing, decorating, and upkeep of the building.
* Safety First – Perform regular checks on fire alarms, boilers, lifts, and ensure full compliance with health & safety standards.
* Outdoor Care – Keep our gardens, car parks, and outdoor spaces tidy and well-maintained.
* Stock & Supplies – Manage tools and materials efficiently, ensuring everything is in place when needed.
* Team Support – Help new staff get familiar with the building and fire safety procedures.
* Record Keeping – Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance and safety checks.

*Overtime is paid for working over fulltime hours. Free meals are given if working over an 8 hour shift and are subject to terms and conditions. Discounts are accessed using our ‘Reward Me’ app. Flexible pay is available via ‘WAGESTREAM’.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience : A background in property maintenance, including basic plumbing skills would be beneficial
* Problem-Solving Skills : The ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues effectively and efficiently.
* Attention to Detail : A keen eye for maintaining high standards across all areas.
* Caring Nature : A patient, approachable, and professional manner.
* Health & Safety Awareness : Knowledge of safety requirements and procedures would be beneficial but training will be provided
