What you will do:
– Deliver independent social work advice to the courts in both public and private law proceedings, ensuring that decisions prioritize the child’s best interests.
– Engage directly with children and families to ascertain their wishes, feelings, and needs.
– Conduct comprehensive, evidence-based assessments and prepare detailed reports for court proceedings under Section 7 and Section 37 of the Children Act 1989.
– Act as a representative of the child’s voice and best interests in family court proceedings, proposing informed recommendations to facilitate safe and timely court decisions.
– Participate actively in public law proceedings serving as the Children’s Guardian under the Children Act 1989.
– Collaborate with local authorities, legal solicitors, and other professionals involved in each case for optimal outcomes.
– Attend and provide testimony in family court hearings, prepared to handle cross-examination if necessary.
– Adhere to Cafcass policies, national legislation, and Children and Family Court Proceedings Rules assiduously.
– Maintain accurate, clear, and timely case records and documentation.
– Contribute to the ongoing improvement of practice through active participation in training, supervision, and peer reviews.
