GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive school in Rotherham from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs who are passionate about music education and performance.
Role Overview:
As a Music Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ musical abilities, appreciation, and confidence. You’ll play a key role in fostering creativity through a dynamic and well-supported music department.
Role Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality music lessons across Key Stages, following the national curriculum.
* Encourage students to explore a range of musical styles, instruments, and technologies.
* Prepare pupils for practical and theoretical music assessments and performances.
* Promote a classroom environment that nurtures self-expression and collaboration.
* Support extracurricular music activities such as school concerts, choirs, or ensembles.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
* Uphold school policies and maintain high standards of safeguarding and inclusion.
Candidate Requirements:
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Music.
* Strong knowledge of music theory, composition, and performance techniques.
* Experience teaching Music at secondary level is desirable.
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
* A creative and adaptable teaching approach that engages all learners.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
