Project Overview
Major aviation project in the Greater London area, involving planning, design, integration and delivery of airfield infrastructure, buildings and systems. Part of a dynamic team to deliver high‑impact work in a fast‑moving development.
Job Summary
The Assurance Manager supports the management and assurance of Development Consent Order (DCO) requirements during the construction phase. The role reports to the Assurance & Requirements Lead and focuses on day‑to‑day coordination, monitoring and evidence management of DCO compliance.
Major Responsibilities
* Support arrangements for managing and assuring DCO requirements and commitments.
* Coordinate DCO‑related assurance activities, including compliance checks, audits and reviews.
* Maintain accurate, complete and auditable records of DCO requirements and compliance evidence.
* Work with project teams and supply chain to ensure DCO obligations are understood and implemented.
* Monitor compliance risks, issues and non‑compliances and elevate through governance processes.
* Prepare assurance reports, dashboards and briefing materials for senior stakeholders.
* Support engagement with statutory bodies, regulators and independent assurance providers.
* Ensure assurance activities align with regulatory obligations and avoid duplication of PMO assurance.
* Champion health, safety, environmental standards and inclusive behaviours.
Education & Experience Requirements
* Degree qualified in engineering, planning, project management, law, environmental or related discipline.
* Typically 5+ years of experience in regulatory assurance, requirements management or compliance within major infrastructure or capital programmes.
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Strong knowledge of the Development Consent Order regime and NSIP statutory planning framework.
* Understanding of requirements management and regulatory assurance principles.
* Experience working with multiple stakeholders and supply chain partners.
* Strong organisational, analytical and documentation skills.
* Familiarity with audit or regulatory compliance frameworks desirable.
* Relevant professional qualifications (APM, PRINCE2, ISO, internal audit) desirable.
