Operations / Project Administrator (advanced user of Microsoft Dynamics 365)

Our client, a specialist manufacturer of power distribution and smart control systems, is looking for an experienced Operations Administrator to join their operations team.
The company delivers innovative infrastructure solutions used across urban lighting, highways, and electric vehicle projects, and they take pride in producing high-quality engineered products for customers across the UK and beyond.
The Role
As the Operations / Project (D365) Administrator, you’ll be the key point of contact for managing and maintaining the company’s ERP environment. Working closely with design, manufacturing, and purchasing teams, you’ll ensure that production workflows, purchasing activities, and order processing are accurately reflected and efficiently managed within the D365 system.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining data integrity across Bills of Materials, works orders, and project documentation, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled on time and to the correct specification.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong analytical ability, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer and maintain the D365 system to support production, purchasing, and sales processes.
* Create and manage Bills of Materials, routes, and production orders.
* Ensure purchase orders and works orders are accurately raised, tracked, and closed.
* Maintain and update project data and reports to ensure accuracy across departments.
* Generate drawing packages, pro forma invoices, and other production documentation as required.
* Support the sales team with order entry and invoicing to meet monthly financial targets.
* Monitor inventory levels, perform stock adjustments, and support stock control initiatives.
* Coordinate with customers regarding delivery schedules and order fulfilment.
* Provide system support to the purchasing function during periods of absence or high demand.
* Prepare month-end operational and financial reports.
About You
* Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations or equivalent ERP modules).
* Strong data management, organisational, and planning skills.
* Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on process improvement.
* Team-oriented, reliable, and adaptable under pressure.
