Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate, patient, and resilient Early Years SEN Learning Support Buddies to join a specialist early‑years provision in Poole, supporting children aged 3-8 with a range of severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties. The setting includes Autism‑Specific (ASC) classrooms and additional‑needs environments, supporting pupils with Autism, sensory needs, learning difficulties, communication challenges, and a variety of developmental profiles.
This highly specialist provision offers a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young learners who require consistent, personalised, and holistic support. With small class sizes of 6-8 pupils and a high staff‑to‑student ratio, the environment is designed to ensure every child receives the individualised support they need. The setting includes a fully equipped soft‑play area, multi‑purpose learning spaces, large outdoor areas, and a sensory garden. Exceptional training, a nurturing team, and temp‑to‑perm pathways are available for candidates who demonstrate commitment, reliability, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Providing personalised support to pupils with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties
2. Supporting children with Autism, sensory needs, learning difficulties, and non‑verbal communication
3. Assisting in the delivery of creative, therapeutic, sensory‑based, and inclusive learning activities
4. Promoting safety, emotional wellbeing, and positive engagement throughout the school day
5. Supporting pupils with daily routines, emotional regulation, communication, and developing independence
6. Using clear, consistent communication to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Contract Details

8. Position: Early Years SEN Learning Support Buddy
9. Start Date: ASAP
10. Contract Type: Full‑time, with temp‑to‑perm pathways available
11. Working Hours: 09:00am – 15:00pm
12. Pay Rate: From £14 per hour
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
13. Have the Right to Work in the UK
14. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
15. Provide professional references covering the past 24 months, ideally involving work with children or vulnerable individuals
16. Hold a Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education, health & social care, or have relevant SEN experience
