About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Corporate team in Birmingham or Bristol, handling a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures and corporate governance.
Responsibilities
* Network with colleagues locally and nationally for a wide range of clients including public and private UK and international companies and their owners in relation to mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt funding and general corporate structuring work.
* Lead and manage a broad range of corporate transactions and provide advisory work on corporate governance.
* Mentor junior members of the team whilst working closely with the Birmingham partner on strategic initiatives and thought leadership.
* Engage in business development activities, building client relationships and helping to grow our practice.
* Work flexibly, splitting your week between home working environment and our Birmingham office.
* Comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.
Qualifications
* Ambitious lawyer, 5 to 10 years Qualified, ready to progress within corporate law.
* Experience in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance, having played a lead role in some transactions and principal assistant on others; working knowledge of debt finance useful.
* Strong academic achievement, initiative, drive, organisational and communication skills, resilience, and ability to work independently.
* Preference for a genuine team player who can support others and share ideas and opportunities.
* Sector experience in healthcare beneficial but not essential.
* Demonstrated interest in business development.
* Strong client management skills and a willingness to learn.
* Legal practice is about people – this is a team-oriented role.
