Job Summary
We currently have full-time and part-time vacancies for Housekeeping Assistants. The role is to provide effective and efficient cleaning & food service within the wards and departments to ensure the highest standards of service at all times.
Main Duties
* Ensure all aspects of health and safety, food hygiene, COSHH, Infection Control and relevant regulations are strictly adhered to.
* Ensure compliance with all aspects of Health and Safety legislation and the correct use of personal protective equipment.
* Maintain wards and departments free from excessive refuse and keep them tidy and presentable at all times.
* Remove and re-hang curtains, ensuring curtains are correctly bagged and labelled for transport to the Laundry area or disposed of appropriately.
* Report all maintenance issues and hazards to your Team Leader or the Housekeeping Supervisor.
* Comply with departmental & Trust personal hygiene policy/procedures at all times.
* Prepare cutlery, crockery and trays ready for patient meal times, collect, wash and put away all cutlery, crockery and trays after patient meal times.
* Wash and replenish all water jugs, clean patient tables after each service and, if required, during the day.
* Maintain the cleanliness of the ward kitchen before, during and after patient meal service.
* Serve patient beverage service including snacks as required and ensure the ward kitchen is clean, items in date and stock rotated.
* Monitor/record refrigerator temperatures and defrost refrigerators as and when required.
* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing service needs when required.
