Our trust has over 17,000 staff serving 2 million patients every year. We are inviting a highly motivated, experienced hospital pharmacist with good clinical and managerial skills and a working knowledge of the medicines optimisation agenda to lead our high‑speciality pharmacy services.
Main duties of the job
* Lead, develop and evaluate the clinical pharmacy service to Rheumatology, Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.
* Provide highly specialist clinical pharmacy practice and act as a pharmacy role model.
* Deliver specialist service for in‑patients, out‑patients and day cases, including bespoke medicine management schemes.
* Ensure mechanisms for quality drug use, effective risk management, patient safety, clinical governance initiatives and adherence to trust policies; advise on drug budget management.
* Support clinical pharmacy services, dispensary, production, medicine information services and medicines management programme.
* Assist in planning and delivery of education and training within the pharmacy department and the relevant specialty areas.
* Conduct pharmacy practice research and clinical audit in this area of practice.
* Manage the pharmacy team working in this speciality area.

Education and qualifications
* MPharm or equivalent
* Registered pharmacist with the GPhC
* Completion of post‑graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
* Independent non‑medical prescribing qualification or currently working towards it
* Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
* Post‑graduate diploma in pharmacy practice or equivalent, or currently working towards it
* Good Clinical Practice knowledge
* Advanced qualification in specialist area or equivalent
Skills and abilities
* Ability to work under pressure
* Effective verbal and written communication skills with all disciplines, colleagues and patients, and good presentation skills
* Ability to innovate and implement change
* Ability to carry out drugs usage review and drug expenditure analysis
* Ability to lead service
* Ability to motivate, influence and persuade senior pharmacy and medical staff, the MDT team and management
