Job Role: People Advisor
Location: Southampton or Guilford office (2-3 days in office)
Salary: up to £40,000 + Great Benefits
As a People Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our people and leaders across the firm. You’ll be the go-to expert for day-to-day HR matters, helping to shape a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
HR Advisory & Employee Relations
* Delivering consistent, practical, and legally sound HR advice to employees and managers.
* Supporting informal and formal employee relations cases, including performance, absence, disciplinary, and grievance matters.
* Acting as a mediator to resolve workplace conflicts and promote a healthy, collaborative environment.
* Identifying and mitigating risks early, escalating complex issues to senior colleagues when needed.
Data-Driven Decision Making
* Collaborating with the People Operations Insights Analyst to interpret HR data and trends.
* Using insights to inform decision-making, improve processes, and enhance the employee experience.
Policy & Process Development
* Supporting the review, development, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
* Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practices.
* Working with internal and external experts to ensure consistent interpretation and application of policies.
Strategic Projects & Leadership Support
* Partnering with the Senior People Business Partner to deliver people strategies aligned with business goals.
* Supporting change initiatives and people-related projects across the firm.
* Upskilling leaders and managers in people practices, helping them grow their confidence and capability.
Culture & Values

* Acting as a trusted advisor and role model for inclusive, respectful, and values-led leadership.
Ideal Candidate:
I'm looking for someone who is not only technically strong in HR but also people-focused, empathetic, and solutions-oriented. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
* Solid HR experience in a generalist or advisory role, ideally within a professional services or multi-site environment.
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
* Excellent interpersonal skills – you’re approachable, a great listener, and able to build trust quickly.
* Conflict resolution and mediation skills – you can navigate sensitive conversations with care and confidence.
* Analytical mindset – you’re comfortable working with data and using insights to drive improvements.
* Strong communication skills – both written and verbal, with a keen eye for detail.
* Proactive and organised – you manage your time well and can juggle multiple priorities.
* CIPD qualification (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential.
