Based just outsode of Bristol, our client is a leading developer of bespoke engineered products and solutions used across a range of exciting and emerging markets. The organisation has R&D, manufacturing and service facilities across the whole of the UK and in the last five years, they have enjoyed successive growth in revenues and profits due to the amount of investment they have made in new innovative technologies which have been very well received by customers as well as the sectors the group has targeted.
As well as the usual responsibilities associated with a company Finance Director including leading the internal reporting requirements, successful completion of the annual statutory audit process and making sure corporate budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed, the Finance Director will work very closely with the Group Managing Director to ensure the individual businesses/divisions have the appropriate systems in place to achieve the anticipated growth and that the new systems/processes and organisational structure are fit for purpose. There are a number of specific projects that the new Finance Director will be responsible for including managing the relocation of certain operational functions, rolling out a new IT/ERP system, as well as developing the IT service functions in order to reduce the reliance on Consultants as well as working with the Group Commercial Director to formulate growth strategies, plans and future businesses cases.
The new Finance Director will join the group at an interesting and exciting time when they have the chance to make a real difference and shape the future of what will be a newly formed group of companies. The intention will be to promote this person into Group Financial Director so it will suit an experienced and commercially astute FD who is used to adding real value to a business across multiple functions. Experience of developing efficiencies across different business units to ensure they run effectively and to increase margins would be a real advantage for the new person coming in. As the finance team consists of less than 10 people, this role will also suit someone who enjoys operating in a hands-on strategic way within a business.
